The Hauts-de-Seine department celebrates its Olympic and Paralympic medalists.

A new trinket for the Olympic and Paralympic medalists. The Hauts-de-Seine departmental council celebrated, this Tuesday, the seventeen athletes (for nineteen medals) licensed in a club in the territory, medalists during the Olympic and Paralympic Games including Maxime Grousset (licensed at CS 92 Natation), bronze medalist (men’s 4 × 100 m medley relay).

During the Olympic Games, athletes from Hauts-de-Seine allowed French sports federations to win a record number of medals among all the departments in the country. This success is double for the 92, which saw the birth of the greatest number of sportsmen with thirteen athletes and welcomed the greatest number of medalists to its clubs.

Pascal Donnadieu, iconic coach of 92, also won the silver medal as assistant coach of the French basketball team. During the Paralympic Games, para-judo distinguished itself by bringing two medals to Hauts-de-Seine.

In addition to a new medal struck in the name of the department, the athletes received a bonus of 10,000 euros for each gold medal, 7,500 euros for silver, 5,000 euros for bronze, and 3,750 euros for Pascal Donnadieu.

“Today, the entire Hauts-de-Seine department is celebrating its champions! They honor French sport and embody the values ​​of Olympism, and these medals represent the years of effort, preparation and training of which they can be proud. Thanks to them, Hauts-de-Seine has become the first Olympic department in , at the heart of the new record of 64 medals, not to mention our two magnificent medals at the Paralympic Games,” rejoiced Georges Siffredi, President of the Hauts-de-Seine department.

With nearly 366,000 members, 2,017 registered sports associations and 505 high-level athletes, the Hauts-de-Seine department prides itself on being one of the most sporting communities in France.
