The Essonne department is in mourning. Xavier Bionnemayor of Mondeville, died on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, following a long illness. Aged 47, he was elected mayor in 2020, succeeding Jean-Pierre Delhotal.

“Xavier left us far too soon”

In a press release, published on the Facebook page of the commune of Mondeville, the municipality indicates that a ” tribute worthy of his action and his commitment to his village and his fellow citizens” will be returned to him soon.

When his death was announced, many political figures from the Essonne department paid tribute to him. François Durovray, president of the Essonne department, praised Xavier Bionne’s commitment to his community on his Facebook account. “200% committed to his village, he deeply loved the people of Essonne and his territory […] Xavier left us far too soon, but his commitment, his passion and his love for Essonne will remain forever engraved in our memories. »

“It is with great sadness and emotion that I learned of the passing of Xavier Bionne.We will all miss him and my prayers are with his loved ones in this terrible ordeal,” declared Essonne senator Laure Darcos on her X account.
