The 4th edition of the Free Don is organized on Saturday, with a departure from Sébazac, before a lunch stop at Mur-de-Barrez and a return to Rodez.
Chaired by Chantal Hurtes, the Cami sport et cancer Aveyron association is organizing its now traditional motorcycle ride on the roads of Aveyron on Saturday. Two days before serving the chefs’ dinner, which will take place this year, Monday evening, at the Saint-Joseph chapel in Rodez. For this 4th edition of the Free don, participation is free and the Cami bikers are helping this association with their donations, which works throughout the year to find funding to enable people affected by cancer to benefit from sports therapy programs, from the start of the diagnosis and at any time during the treatment process.
This year, the organizers are offering a day trip, with the usual departure from the La Doline hall in Sébazac-Concourès, given at 9:30 am by Florence Cayla, mayor of the town. Registrations will be done on site from 8:30 am. This outing will lead bikers to Saint-Amans-des-Côts, for a hasty lunch around noon in Mur-de-Barrez, where they will be welcomed by the chief magistrate Pierre Ignace, with an aperitif offered by the town hall. An outdoor meal will be offered at the price of €15, including an aligot-sausage that will delight the taste buds. The two-wheeled peloton will then head towards Sainte-Geneviève-sur-Argence, then Laguiole, before reaching Rodez at the end of the afternoon, around 6 p.m., to respect a ritual: tour of the city and final at Place du Bourg, to go to the town hall of the main town, where the participants in this Free Don will be the guests of the mayor Christian Teyssèdre.
