Who should get vaccinated?

But who exactly is this preventive vaccination against Mpox intended for? According to the ARS, it is recommended for people most exposed to the virus such as men who have sex with men with multiple sexual partners, trans people with multiple sexual partners, sex workers, professionals working in sexual encounter places and partners or people sharing the same living space as people mentioned above.

“Vaccination can also be considered on a case-by-case basis for health professionals who are required to care for sick people,” specifies the Hauts-de-France regional health agency.

As a reminder, the 2024 strain of the virus (Clade I) is not present in France and the circulation of the 2022 strain (Clade II) of the virus remains marginal in the territory.
