Deux-Sèvres and Saumurois. A fictitious alert message may appear on phones this Wednesday

FR-Alert is a population alert system that allows real-time notifications to be sent to the mobile phones of people in an area facing danger. It informs the people concerned about the nature and location of the danger and indicates the behaviors to adopt to protect themselves. This new alert vector complements existing systems and constitutes an appropriate response to all crises in the face of natural and technological risks as well as the effects of threats by relying on technologies that allow the mass and rapid sending of notifications. If you are in one of the areas affected by imminent danger, you can receive a notification accompanied by a specific sound signal, even if your mobile phone is in silent mode. Receiving this notification does not require any prior installation on smartphones. A test of this device will be carried out as part of a civil security exercise carried out by the Deux-Sèvres prefecture on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Bressuire district. The alert will consist of broadcasting an information message on the nature and location of a danger or threat and on the actions and behaviors to adopt to all mobile phones located in the fictitious “danger zone” imagined for the exercise and around it. The exercise message will not call for any sheltering action on the part of the people who received it as part of the exercise. This message will include a link to a questionnaire to assess the perception of the system. “Given the redundancies caused by the relay antennas, it is highly possible that the populations in the south of the districts of and will receive this alert”indicates the prefecture of Maine-et-. Residents of Thouarsais and Saumurois will therefore be able to receive messages this Wednesday.
