Visit to the small living room of the Prefecture of Creuse with Empire style furniture

In general, the furniture of the Prefectures in France is in the Empire style. That of Creuse is on the same model in terms of furniture.

Let’s discover the small reception room

This living room has large windows, characteristic of the Directoire style.

In the 18th century, everyone sought the well-being and comfort of these high windows which allowed sun and heat to enter this large residence.

The Hôtel de la Préfecture opens its doors on Saturday, September 21 as part of the Heritage Days. Visits are possible at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. by registration only.

On the program: guided tour of the main courtyard, the entrance hall, the dining room, the Prefect’s office, the reception rooms and the park/garden.
