the program of the Mobility Week in Greater

From September 16 to 22, European Mobility Week takes place. On this occasion, the Metropolis and several associations are mobilizing to raise awareness and encourage residents to adopt a gentle mode of transport. Here is the program for the week.

Walks, training and repairs… The program in Greater Lyon is rich on the occasion of the European Mobility Week, from Monday September 16 to 22. And if the theme this year revolves around “shared public space”, most of the proposed activities relate to cycling.

Training and awareness of cycling

To convince new people to adapt the bicycle as a means of transport, several training courses are being organised this week by the Métropole cycling school. This Monday 16 September, a theoretical training course is being offered between 6pm and 7.30pm at the mobility agency in . It will be followed by a practical training course on the forecourt of the Oullins train station metro station on Wednesday 18 September at 2pm. An event will also be held on the forecourt of the Oullins metro station on Wednesday, September 18 to raise awareness of the dangers of blind spots on buses.

Repair shop and city walk

For those who are already cycling enthusiasts, several self-repair workshops are also offered this week. An opportunity to get to grips with your means of transport. A workshop will take place on Wednesday, September 18, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., on the forecourt of the Buers social center in . Another will take place on the forecourt of the Maria Casarès college, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Friday, September 20 in Rillieux-la-Pape.

Two urban walks are also organized from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 19, departing from the Agence des Mobilités, rue Masséna in Lyon. The objective of this walk is to introduce users to the various mobility services, more or less well-known, available to them. Examples include Vélov’ stations, TCL terminals, Citiz carpooling stations and the Encovoit’ Grand Lyon carpooling application. Finally, a mobility forum is organized on Wednesday, September 25 by the Mobility Agency and the PIMMS of Lyon. It will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., on the Place du 8-May 1945, in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon.
