A large deployment composed in particular of police officers, dog handlers and drones then began to search the borough during the day.

“We cannot formally confirm that it is Isabelle Fortier for the moment. It will be up to the coroner to identify the body,” said Marie-Pier Rivard, spokesperson for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).
For the moment, the SPVQ does not rule out any hypothesis as to the reasons which led to the death of the young woman found. The forensic identification unit also went to the scene to analyze the scene on Monday evening.
Authorities had reason to fear for Isabelle Fortier’s health and safety when her family reported her missing on July 15. However, few details have been made public in this case.
