– A fire is in progress in the industrial zone of Vétroz
A building caught fire Thursday shortly before 5:30 p.m. in Vétroz, where the population was invited to close doors and windows and avoid the disaster area.

A major fire broke out late Thursday afternoon in the industrial area of Vétroz (VS). The column of smoke was visible far and wide, according to images tweeted by the cantonal police. Many firefighters were on site in the evening.
At 8:00 p.m., the fire was raging as at the start of the disaster, which broke out around 5:25 p.m., police spokesman Steve Léger told Keystone-ATS. “Enormously” firefighters are on site, according to him. A fire extinguisher train arrived at the scene in the evening, tracks passing nearby.
The area is to be avoided, because there is a risk of explosion, specifies the police. The population was asked to close doors and windows and avoid breathing smoke.
