A major fire broke out around 5:25 p.m. in the Botza industrial zone, in Vétroz. The plume of smoke rising from it is visible far and wide. The police say they are on the scene, as are the firefighters. According to our information, it could be the BioFruits warehouse, while “Le Nouvelliste” refers to the building of the Polaris IPS company. The La Poste sorting center is not affected for the moment, indicates the police. An evacuation is likely.

The inhabitants of the region are invited to “avoid breathing this cloud by closing doors and windows”, enjoins Stève Léger, spokesperson for the gendarmerie. “He’s very black, we don’t know what he’s made of.” It is also advisable to avoid the area, since “gas canisters are there and have not yet exploded”, he adds.
