This Tuesday morning around 7:45 a.m., a device from the Valais company struck the massif. Five people were on board. One of them would be seriously injured.

A helicopter from the Valais company Air Zermatt crashed this morning around 7:45 a.m. in the Monte Rosa (VS) massif, near the Italian border. According to the Italian daily La Stampa, four passengers who were on board the aircraft would be unharmed. But, according to the Austrian press agency APA, a fifth occupant would be seriously injured and hospitalized.

The aircraft crashed at an altitude of around 4,500 meters in the Colle Gnifetti area, just below Capanna Margherita, the highest alpine refuge in Europe. It is not known if it was a tourist flight. On the other hand, the Italian media specifies that the place of the accident is neither a landing zone nor a take-off zone. The circumstances of the crash are at this stage unknown. The Valais cantonal police confirm an ongoing intervention on the site.
