The municipal authorities want to make the space accessible to all Brussels residents.

The rooftop, which is located on the 9th floor of the Brucity, also includes a restaurant which will be located a little lower, on the 8th floor. The works are in progress and it should open around September 2023. Its management has been entrusted, following a public contract, to Bru58, made up of LO-Group, the Hanging Gardens and Les Filles. Together, they aim to rethink the traditional office canteen. At noon, the inhabitants of Brussels will also be able to have meals there, at the same time as the civil servants of the City of Brussels. This restaurant will also be open in the evenings and on weekends, just like the rootfop.

“It is important that the Brucity is really the building of the inhabitants of Brussels, that is to say the place where they go for their administrative procedures, but also a place of meeting, sharing and culture”explains Philippe Close (PS), the mayor of the City of Brussels.

As a reminder, the staff of the City of Brussels had gradually begun their installation in the new administrative center in December 2022. It is built on the site of the former Parking 58. In total, nearly 1,900 municipal employees will be based there, for approximately 1,400 workstations.
