The unfortunate was identified during the day by the coroner’s office. It is Kieran Stewartwho was 23 years old.
A fisherman spotted the lifeless body in the water on Friday morning and contacted the Joint Rescue Coordination Center around 6:40 a.m., according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in the province.
Kieran Stewart had left alone in a kayak to get to the island St.Peters. He planned to camp there for the night. He was last seen on Saturday June 10.
He was reported missing the next day because he had not returned from his excursion as planned.
His vehicle was parked where he left it at rice point. His kayak was found floating 5.5 kilometers from the island St.Peters.
A search took place this week to find Kieran Stewart.

Last Tuesday, a paddle was found in the water about a mile and a half from Prime Point.
Nautical and aerial searches were carried out, with, among other things, several planes, a Cormoran helicopter from the Canadian Armed Forces, drones from the RCMP and three Canadian Coast Guard ships.
About 50 volunteers also took part in the efforts.
