Together with Parks Canada, Amazon Music is launching its program today Northern Echoes to unearth a new generation of Canadian talent. With the goal of providing an unparalleled platform for emerging artists, this unique series invites undiscovered musicians from remote Canadian communities to apply for a chance to have their music featured in a new set of Amazon Music videos, to be released under the Amazon Music Originals banner.

The episodes of Northern Echoesfeaturing new Canadian artists, will premiere on Amazon Music Canada’s Instagram channel, with extended versions set to air on Amazon Music’s YouTube channel at a later date. Each episode will be filmed at a national historic site, national park or national marine conservation area administered by Parks Canada. Viewers will meet one of the new artists, while experiencing the breathtaking natural splendour of Canada’s wilderness and the cultural richness of historic places. Each episode will take an in-depth look at the artists’ early life in their communities and how those years have impacted their musical journey. The finale will feature the musicians performing their original song on a solar-powered stage atop the Amazon Music Bus, set against the backdrop of Canada’s vast and magnificent skyline.

Amazon Music is accepting applications until September 17. Artists can submit their applications in French HERE and in English HERE. After reviewing the applications, a jury of industry experts and Canadian media representatives will select the finalists through an intensive selection process, who will be featured throughout the series. Amazon Music will film interviews and live musical performances with the selected talent at a nearby national historic site, national park or national marine conservation area administered by Parks Canada.
