While a new day of mobilization against the pension reform is scheduled for Tuesday, June 6, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) asked airlines this Thursday to cancel a third of their flights to Paris- Orly.
At the call of the unions, a 14e day of mobilization against the pension reform is organized on Tuesday, June 6. As a result, and due to the participation of air traffic controllers in this strike, air traffic will be strongly affected in several French airports.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) requested, this Thursday 1er June, airlines to cancel a third of their flights at Paris-Orly.
Preventive deletions were also required for one in five flights from or to Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse, Nice, Bordeaux and Nantes airports, the DGAC added in its press release, indicating that additional “disturbances and delays” were likely.
Note, however, that Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport is not affected by these preventive cancellations. The latter are, moreover, supposed to match the traffic and the numbers of air traffic controllers available, in order to avoid flight cancellations without the passengers having been able to be warned.
These work stoppages will also affect certain en route air navigation centers (CRNA), which guide planes flying over national territory.
This 14e day of mobilization will be held two days before the examination in Parliament of the bill tabled by the Liot group. This plans to repeal the pension reform and is deemed “unconstitutional” by the executive and the president of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet.
