Accustomed to directing the interrogations, it is now up to him to be subjected to the many questions of the gendarmes of the Strasbourg research section. According to concordant sources, a police officer stationed in Bas-Rhin was arrested and placed in police custody on Thursday afternoon. He is heard in the context of an investigation into the double murder of his ex-companion and her new companion.
This 50-year-old woman and the 55-year-old man with whom she had lived for just over three years were found dead on Thursday in their apartment located on the ground floor of the town hall of the small town of Roppentzwiller (Haut-Rhin). Both were shot dead. The 25-year-old son of the woman found dead was also taken into custody.
The macabre discovery was made on Thursday. In the morning, the daughter of the fifties had been called by neighbors of the couple. These relatives of the victims were surprised not to see them and, above all, to hear their dogs, usually calm, howling to death for several hours.
Troubled by the lack of response from her mother, at whose house she had found the door closed on Wednesday evening, the young woman finally decided to call the firefighters to let them know of her concern. When they arrived on the scene, the rescuers could only note the two deaths.
In the first moments, the gendarmerie investigators thought that the 55-year-old man had shot his partner before ending his life. But criminal identification technicians quickly cast doubt on this thesis, after finding several disturbing clues in the victims’ apartment. Elements which may suggest that the crime scene has been modified to make believe in this scenario of murder followed by suicide. Thursday afternoon, they therefore arrested the woman’s former companion, a police officer stationed in the Bas-Rhin.
According to our information, the separation of the couple had been very complicated and enamelled with tensions. According to concordant sources, the police officer was known to the judicial documentation in the context of at least two procedures concerning domestic violence against his ex-partner.
