It is hard to believe that in 2023, in Quebec, a Facebook group advocates violence against the black community. However, it is the sad reality that is denounced by a resident of Mont-Joli.
Kédina Fleury-Samson and members of her family were the direct target of threats.
In an interview with QUB radio, the host and general manager of station FLO 96.5 FM in Rimouski explained to Sophie Durocher that she had taken steps to close down the group called “les chasseurs de noir [sic]”.
“I took it upon myself to meet the parents,” Ms.me Fleury Samson.
The hate group is made up mostly of young people, young people who also attend the school of his two children. Except that to his surprise, some parents were also members.
Confronted with the writings of their child, several parents “overturned”, according to what Mme Fleury Samson. She also contacted a school worker. To his surprise, some people were already in trouble with the law over similar stories.
“I couldn’t find a rational explanation for this,” she said.
Although the police were informed of the situation, Ms.me Fleury-Samson prefers, for the moment, not to file a complaint for defamation. But she is extremely clear: no one will have the courage to say such things to her in person. All she hopes is that her children don’t come out bruised.
