“Distributed” workshops to help the harassed children. They are offered in Geneva by the Geneva Association Couple & Famille. A first cycle started in January.
How to help children victims of school harassment?
The Geneva Association Couple & Family has implemented a new wrestling program with “distributed” workshops. The first cycle of five weeks started ten days ago, others will follow later in the year. The objective is to give these young people to defend themselves, find solutions to react differently and strengthen their confidence. Speech times, group games and role -playing games allow us to approach harassment situations in a very concrete way.
Florence Dessuet, co -director of the couple and family association Geneva, explains the progress of this first cycle of workshops:
Sometimes parents of harassed children want to intervene directly. Florence Dessuet warns, it’s not always a good idea:
School harassment has unfortunately always existed, but social networks often worsen situations:
Anna Rossman is dramatherapist and workshop leader. When she welcomes young people, she must first put them in confidence:
She also explains how we can identify the mechanisms of the rehearsal harasses:
-What tools are used to help these young people? Anna Rossman:
Among the participants in the January and February workshops, there is a Geneva mother, Emma. Her 12 -year -old son has been harassment for several years at school. He is targeted by his comrades because he is big, just bigger than the average of children his age. The troubles started several years ago between the 3 and 4 P. After a move, the young boy changed school but once again, he was the target of mockery.
Emma, her mother, returns to her story:
When she discovers the situation, Emma feels helpless:
Emma’s son will see a psychologist, his mother even decides to go further and undertake family therapy. She intends to talk about the workshops offered by the couple & family association. Emma has already done the first, intended for parents:
The association can also offer therapeutic support.
