Complicated intervention
Made up of an ambulance, a medical team, a team from the intervention group in dangerous environments (GRIMP), and a command vehicle, the Gard fire brigade detachment, supported by the gendarmerie, took charge of a 48-year-old man who fell while mountain biking on a trail classified as Defense of Forests Against Fire (DFCI).
-A very narrow path – normally reserved for firefighters and public authorities, owners of private land served by these routes as well as their beneficiaries – making intervention complicated. Seriously injured in his right ankle, the mountain biker was able to contact emergency services. After being airlifted, he was transported to CH Carémeau in Nîmes by the civil security helicopter.
