A man arrested in Cotentin after having assaulted his future ex-partner in front of the school

Friday January 24, 2025a man, described as “alcoholic and going through a divorce”, presents himself at the leaving school around 4:30 p.m. wants to see her child.

The situation quickly degenerates between his future ex-partner and this man. The latter commits violence against her in front of other parents and children present.

15 soldiers looking for him

The man then fled into the streets of this town of more than two thousand souls.

An important system was quickly put in place. It brings together a total of 15 soldiers from the brigade community of Saint-Jean-de-Daye and the gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon (PSIG) of Saint-Lô. Within a few minutes, the man was arrested and taken into custody.

The protected victim

This man, summoned to answer for his actions, will appear freely in court on April 23, 2025, specify the gendarmerie and the public prosecutor of Coutances.

The situation is receiving the full attention of the Coutances public prosecutor's office, which is implementing all protective measures with regard to the victim in order to prevent the recurrence of the facts.
