The boss of the press group Ebra Philippe Carli apologizes for having liked extreme right messages on social networks

The businessman had been pinned by Mediapart for having “liked” personalities like Sarah Knafo on Linkedin.

The president of the press group Ebra, owner of nine regional daily newspapers, apologized on Sunday, January 26, of having loved on Linkedin publications of far -right personalities. “Yes, my rapid practice of social networks was clumsy. I'm sorry. This is not what I am as a man and leader of an independent press group”, writes Philippe Carli in a forum published by the group's newspapers.

The businessman, who has led the Crédit Mutuel owner group since 2017 since 2017, had been pinned on Thursday by Mediapart For having liked messages emanating from extreme right accounts and personalities, such as the Eurotuputé Sarah Knafo (reconquest). He first told the investigation media that his LinkedIn account was managed by another person, before changing version.

“If my practice of social networks may have appeared to be a supporter and suggest that our newspapers reflect a political opinion, I pray to our readers, our journalists and our collaborators to apologize. I will now be more vigilant in my public expression”he promises.
