According to him, this initiative aims to respond to the growing pressure on the job market, where around 300,000 young people arrive each year.
The minister stressed that the employment situation of young graduates, particularly those with licenses, BTS or masters, could no longer be ignored. “We are not going to let young people take the canoes and die at sea,” he declared, expressing his commitment to guaranteeing dignified and safe professional opportunities for young Senegalese. Abass Fall recalled that the government has put in place an economic and social development program to better manage this issue, although this program is still in the launch phase.
Regarding the 1,000 jobs agreement in Qatar, Abass Fall revealed that this agreement was signed in 2013 and ratified by the National Assembly in 2014, but that it had not yet been implemented until today ‘today. According to him, this is an “opportunity that must be seized” in the context of labor migration, allowing young people to leave in more secure and supervised conditions.
The minister also reassured on the recruitment modalities, explaining that all contracts will be verified and that selections will be made under the aegis of the Employment Directorate, thus guaranteeing a transparent and secure process.
Abass Fall also raised the issue of travel financing. “The Qatari government wanted to finance our trip to Qatar, but the President and the Prime Minister prohibited the trips from being financed by foreign partners,” he said, thus underlining the desire of the Senegalese government to maintain total control. on the organization of these trips.
