Certainly, Donald Trump fully played his role as a catalyst in order to encourage polarization of speeches around gender and identity. In addition, his style of leadership, often provocative and clearing, created an environment where opinions were exacerbated, and where social movements sought to defend itself in the face of opposition perceived as threatening.
However, it is clear that the arrival of Trump in power today invites many Westerners to release their word, affirming loud and clear (which they dared not do before …) their rejection of a progressivism that has become delicious.
A reaction often assimilated to the philosophy of the eternal return (to the future?), Where the defense of traditional values are brandished as ramparts against what is considered as a harmful ideological drift, especially concerning the young generations.
It would now seem that we are witnessing a reassessment of societal priorities. A claimed resistance, less and less subversive, intended to restore a certain form of balance and natural order, in an increasingly fragmented socio -political landscape.
