The Chinese Shenzhen Kaizhong Precision Technology, specializing in the manufacturing of automobile parts, announced on January 25 in a press release its plan to create a wholly owned subsidiary in Morocco. This strategic location “aspires to meet the growing needs of the company’s customers in Europe and Africa”it was announced.
The financial contributions planned for this operation will amount to a maximum amount of 40 million yuan, or approximately 55 million Moroccan dirhams. “This capital will be released gradually, depending on authorizations from the competent authorities in China and Morocco in addition to the specific needs of the new structure”we detailed. The first phase of financing will cover the creation of the subsidiary, the acquisition of land, the construction of buildings as well as their development
This investment reflects a growing trend toward relocation and geographic diversification of Chinese companies, particularly in the automotive sector. Morocco, according to several consistent reports, is emerging as a destination of choice for foreign investors seeking access to both European and African markets.
-In addition, the development of this subsidiary could help strengthen local value chains in the automotive sector, a key pillar of the national economy. Morocco has indeed been able to position itself as a competitive industrial platform, attracting global giants thanks to tax incentives, a qualified workforce and modern infrastructure, particularly within industrial zones like Tanger Med or Kenitra.
However, the success of this establishment will depend on several factors, including the adaptation of Shenzhen Kaizhong to local regulatory requirements, the establishment of strategic partnerships with Moroccan players in the sector and the ability to integrate into the existing ecosystem. The economic benefits, if the Chinese company manages to meet these conditions, could be significant in terms of job creation, skills transfer and technological development.
