Initiated in 2013, and after two years of break, the partnership binding the students of Terminale Bac Pro Safety of the Emile-Baudot vocational high school with the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS 52), was brought up to date, Friday, January 24. This personal commitment allows young volunteers to be able to intervene with firefighters and to assist them in their action.
It is in this context that Séverine Ardin, principal, welcomed, in the multipurpose room of the school, Lieutenant-Colonel Florian Roy, representing SDIS 52, and Lieutenant Pierre-Sébastien Vincent, head of the center of Wassy, to finalize The annual agreement with the three students who agreed to engage with the rescue center. To put this commitment into practice, the high school provides high school students with several bikes, which will allow these young people to quickly reach the rescue center in the event of a call.
In its word of welcome, the principal addressed the young students present by stressing that their personal commitment makes them honor as well as to teachers. Séverine Ardin said she was proud to sign this convention, which is a first for her, hoping that she can be sustainable.
-Captain Pierre Sébastien-Vincent said he was honored to replace a partnership that was pending for two years. As he indicated, “this partnership will strengthen the teams during the days during the week, all the more easily since the young people embarked on the adventure are already a volunteer firefighter in their city of residence. To be effective, high school students will be equipped with a beep like volunteer firefighters and will join the barracks with each call. ” Finally, the center manager concluded his intervention by recalling that schooling remained essential.
The end word was left to Lieutenant-Colonel Roy, who explained that this new partnership was important for SDIS 52 because it will allow these young people to complete their experience. As he expressed, “it will be a trainer and it will allow them to experience important things (to) see something other than by internships and to gain experience. »»
