The various courts of the judicial district of the Meknès Court of Appeal dealt with a total of 153,818 during 2024, said the first president of this jurisdiction, Mohamed Daoui.
Nearly 146,621 cases were brought before the various courts of this court, against 199,813 in 2023, a drop of 26.62%, said Daoui during the opening ceremony for the 2025 judicial year at the level of This judicial district which includes, in addition to the Court of Appeal of Meknes, the two courts of first instance of Meknes and Azrou and the judge resident of the centers of El Hajeb, Zerhoun and Ifrane.
He added that 80.26% of the cases were treated out of the 191,575 educated during the same year, while the bullshit of the business amounted to 37,757 at the end of 2024, against 44,954 at the end of the year 2023, a drop of 16.01%.
Regarding the distribution of cases being investigated at the courts of this judicial district, Mr. Daoui recorded an increase in repressive cases, which constituted 57.96% of the total, or 111,028 cases, while these civil 42.04%, with a total of 80,547 cases.
At the Meknès Court of Appeal, the legal officer said that 16,102 cases were recorded during 2024 before this court and 16,478 were tried.
The first president of the Meknes Court of Appeal called all the actors of the world of justice, in particular magistrates, administrative executives, lawyers and all the auxiliaries of justice, to be serious by contributing to ensure the ‘Judicial efficiency, consolidate the confidence of litigants in the judicial system and strengthen ethics and attachment to professional values.
-For his part, the prosecutor General of the King near the Meknès Court of Appeal, Bouziane Fahmi, reviewed the activities of the public prosecutor during the year 2024, stressing that 757 complaints were recorded during this year, 739 of which have been treated, a rate of 97.62%, and 18 complaints are under investigation by the judicial police.
Mr. Fahmi noted that 3,457 minutes were recorded during the year 2024, including the balance of the year 2023, of which 3,449 minutes were treated, a rate of 99.77%.
He added that the judiciary constitutes an essential link in the consolidation of the rule of law and an important lever for the attractiveness of investments and sustainable development, specifying that the positive results obtained by the public prosecutor are the fruit of the efforts of all actors in the world of justice.
The opening ceremony of the new judicial year was held in the presence in particular of the governor of the prefecture of Meknes, the president of the regional council of Fès-Meknès, the governors of Ifrane and El Hajeb, of members of the superior of the judiciary and the director of human resources at the Ministry of Justice.
At the end of this ceremony, a visit was made to the stand organized during the open days of the Meknès Court of Appeal, which notably brings together the digital services provided by the court.
