Felix Bingui, known as “The Cat”, 34 years old, was brought back to Marseille this Friday, January 24 by plane from Paris, two days after his return from Morocco. From Marignane, a secure convoy, sirens blaring, took him directly to the Marseille courthouse at the end of the day to be heard by a judge. This Saturday morning, the Marseille prosecutor's office confirmed his indictment.

In a press release of a few lines, this Saturday January 25, Nicolas Bessone, the Marseille prosecutor, confirms “the appearance before an investigating magistrate of Mr. Félix Bingui following his extradition from Morocco.”
Several facts were held against him: “he was indicted on charges of importing narcotics in an organized gang, drug trafficking, aggravated money laundering, non-proof of resources and criminal association with a view to preparing a crime and misdemeanors punishable by 10 years of imprisonment. 'imprisonment“, specifies the public prosecutor.
-At the end of his indictment, he was placed in pre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention. But the name of the penitentiary center remained secret.
“It was in a serene atmosphere that all this happened.“, indicated Félix Bingui's lawyer, Maître Philippe Ohayon to AFP, before specifying that his client had been placed in solitary confinement.
“The cat” regularly traveled back and forth to Morocco where he was arrested on March 8, 2024 before accepting his extradition during a hearing before the Rabat Court of Cassation. “He is relieved to be in France. He will be able to explain the facts for which he is accused“, adds Master Ohayon.
