Les Bleues will face New Zealand in the semi-final this Sunday in Perth (Australia). The French women's rugby sevens team qualified for the final four of the Sevens Series at the expense of the United States. Led by Anne-Cécile Ciofani, the French players defeated the Americans in the quarter-final (19-7) this Saturday.
Best player in the world of rugby sevens in 2021 and Olympic silver medalist in Tokyo the same year, Anne-Cécile Ciofani scored two tries in the quarter-final. She was part of the French squad this summer during the Paris Games, which the Blues finished in a disappointing fifth place.
During these Sevens Series in Perth, the French men's team was, however, eliminated in the quarter-finals. Olympic champion in July, the Blues, now orphaned by Antoine Dupont, were beaten by Australia (24-12).
