Established for 3 years within the old Headquarters of Ricard, in the northern districts, this third place devoted to educational innovation makes little ones. Its concept inspired the founder of a citizen association of Dakar (Senegal). The Dakar epic is expected to see the light of day.
“It’s an honor”
Laurent Choukroun, the co-founder of the epic, did not expect to be requested from other countries so quickly. « It is an honor to see that the vision of the epic inspires Dakar. This new epic will reveal the talents of this African youth. In Marseille coexist, business nursery, incubators and training organizations with very different programs. It is a place of life, meetings, creation, sharing ». Each day 5 to 600 people meet in its premises for training from one week to 12 months.
Avoid dramas
Mamadou Diakhate is the project leader in Dakar. Founder of a citizen association, he immediately saw the impact that an antenna of the epic could have in the capital. “” According to our estimates, 6,000 young people can be inserted per year. The expectations are numerous, achievable. The young population is looking for another life and sometimes dies by wanting to cross the Mediterranean for a better life. The Dakar epic will be there to avoid this. It will allow these young people to hatch and continue their dreams ».
Citizen initiative
The project is carried out by citizens. A Senegalese delegation spent a week at the epic to duplicate the concept by adapting it. It is not the policies that impose their law even if they relay and support the initiative. “” The epic meets a real need, Affirm the 1is Secretary of the Senegal Consulate in Marseille. A very young population
Africa is the youngest continent in the world. Those under 25 represent 60% of the population. The “epics” will therefore be very useful to train this population and offer them a future.
