The first day of the Château-d’Oex International Balloon Festival (VD) is canceled due to the wind, the organizers announced on Saturday. However, activities and captive flights are maintained.
“Balloon flights are canceled due to high winds that are too strong. These weather conditions present a risk of gusts, which could push the balloons against the ridges,” explain the organizers on their website.
People who had planned to go to the Pays d’Enhaut on Saturday can, however, maintain their plans, emphasize the organizers. “Entertainments for children, tethered flights, helicopter flights, visits to an envelope, mini-balloons and the air show are maintained,” they indicate.
-This is the 45th edition of the festival. More than 60 pilots from all over the world are scheduled to take to the skies of Pays-d’Enhaut until February 2.
