After a week dominated by humidity and heavy skies, this Saturday will not bring any significant improvement. Storm Éowyn continues its course across France, placing Ille-et-Vilaine and Calvados on orange alert for the risk of flooding. Showers fall from Val-de-Loire to the Belgian border, before heading towards the southwest and east of the country. Temperature-wise, the atmosphere is milder with minimums between 7 and 10°C, offering a semblance of comfort despite the gray weather.

Watercourses remain under close surveillance. In Ille-et-Vilaine, the Meu and Ille-Illet present significant risks of flooding, warns the public establishment Vigicrues. On the Calvados side, the orange alert concerns in particular the Orne (middle and downstream) as well as the Dives. In Morbihan, the situation is improving slightly, with a move to yellow alert since the midnight update.
Vigicrues warns of several potential dangers: significant flooding, weakening or submersion of dikes, power cuts, and major disruptions to traffic, particularly rail. Basements remain particularly at risk, warns the organization.
-Call for caution
The main front of the storm is currently crossing Brittany, with sustained rain expected on Saturday morning. A calm could set in on Saturday afternoon, but not before a rise in levels on all Breton rivers.

Kangaroo of the day
Answer
If Brittany can hope for some clearing, the neighboring departments remain under pressure with the risk of overflows. In Normandy, a westerly oceanic flow punctuates the day with successive disturbances. These weather conditions, combined with soils already saturated by recent precipitation, increase the risk of flooding.
Météo-France recalls the importance of remaining vigilant in the face of this situation. Travel on the road network could be complicated, and weather conditions could affect transportation in general. Increased caution is necessary for those living near risk areas.
