This Friday morning, around 9:30 am, the firefighters of Calais (Pas-de-Calais) were called for an unusual intervention: the capture of a snake found in the department of the preserves of the Auchan supermarket, reports North Littoral. The operation was fast and without difficulty, the reptile measuring about 40 cm and being completely harmless.

The animal, identified as a species from the south-east of the United States, was entrusted to Jean-François, manager of the “Animal Store” pet store located in the shopping mall of the shopping center. “It is a harmless snake, but hungry for the moment,” he said on a daily basis. Jean-François immediately took the necessary measures: “It must be placed under a heating lamp and feed it. He eats frozen mournings. I am surprised that he survived because he needs warmth to live. »»

A precedent a few days earlier

This episode is not isolated. Jean-François says that ten days earlier, another identical snake had been found in the same area. “The workers, who worked by cutting trees in front of Auchan, had discovered a similar specimen. I had advised the man who had found him to keep him and take care of it. That day, it was very cold, and I was surprised that the animal survived. »»
