What is DLSS 4 and what are the advantages of such technology?
The NVIDIA DLSS 4 is a neural rendering technology that exploits artificial intelligence to improve the graphic performance of the games. Thanks to the new Multi-Image Generation Functionality, the DLSS 4 is capable of generating up to three additional images per frame displayed, which results in a significant increase in the cooling rate and a more fluid game experience.
-This advance is made possible by the use of AI models based on transformers, offering better temporal stability, fewer ghost images and greater precision in moving details.
The DLSS 4 incorporates several features such as the Multi-Image Generation reserved for RTX 50 cards, but also improvements for Ray Reconstruction as well as a whole new method for super-resolution that will benefit owners of RTX 50, 40, 30 cards and even RTX 20.
The advantages of the DLSS 4 are multiple. In addition to improving the fluidity of games, especially in high resolutions such as 4K, it reduces the calculation load on the GPU, thus making it possible to achieve performance up to eight times higher than traditional rendering methods. In addition, the DLSS 4 optimizes the use of video memory, with a 30 % reduction in VRAM consumption in certain games, and improves visual quality by offering more stable images and more precise details during movements.
