Formula 1 | Hamilton admits that he agreed to take a 'risk' by going to Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton revealed that he was not sure to make a good choice for his career when he decided to join Ferrari, but that he had the instinct to do it. The seven -time world champion recalls that changing teams is always a bet.

“In the end, each new opportunity is an act of faith” Hamilton said in an interview for LinkedIn's “Get Hired” newsletter.

“None of us can predict the future, so change jobs or, in my case, team, always has a certain level of risk.”

“But I think there is more risks to stay in a place where you feel good and rest on your laurels. I know that signing with Ferrari was the right decision for me and that would give me the challenge I needed. “

“There are so many incredible people in the team with whom I can't wait to work, and I have total confidence in the fact that we are going to achieve great things together.”

He does not especially see a return to zero, because he takes each season as a new challenge, and 2025 is no exception: “I consider each season of Formula 1 as a new chapter. Even the years I won races, trophies and championships, I know that nothing is guaranteed for the coming season.”

“My approach is to work hard every day to make sure that my return to the car, I am not only as good as the previous season, but better. It is this state of mind and the fact of doing continuously progress, whether big or small, which pushed me to accomplish more than I would never have thought possible. “

The Briton thinks that getting out of his comfort zone is important: “Whatever skills we acquire, we learn so much while trying something new. I have been practicing my sport for so long that it would be easy to shut up in old habits or stay in my comfort zone . “

“I embark on new businesses, be it Almave, the first spirits without alcohol based on distilled blue agave, or my collaboration with Dior. When I work on a project outside my sport , I have to see things differently and it gives me a new perspective on what success and how to achieve it. “

“When I take the wheel after a certain time of absence, this new perspective accompanies me and pushes me to improve with each race. I would not be the pilot that I am today without the work I have carried out outside the track. “
