The French Rugby sevens teams got off to a perfect start this Friday in Perth, winning all their group matches. The men won against Ireland (14-5) and Great Britain (12-0), while the women dominated Spain (33-5) and China (21-0).
Perfect start to the tournament for the French rugby sevens teams, in Australia, during the third stage of the Seven Series. The Blues have an impeccable record after their first group stage matches.
Men in control
Benoît Baby's players got off to an ideal start with two convincing victories. They first dominated Ireland (14-5), thanks to two tries from Paulin Riva, before winning against Great Britain (12-0). Despite some slumps and yellow cards in the second half, they were able to maintain their lead to secure their ticket to the quarter-finals even before their last group match against Spain.

Women also shine
For their part, the Blues are not left out. After a first authoritarian victory against Spain (33-5), they did it again by beating China (21-0). In a match marked by constant rain, the French showed remarkable defensive rigor, achieving a perfect tackle rate (100%). The Chinese team was not ridiculous, valiant but not enough to worry the Blues.
The rest of the program
The two French teams will aim to continue their faultless run tomorrow. The men will face Spain at 6:06 a.m. French time in their final group match, while the women will challenge the Australians at 9:09 a.m., for an expected shock.
With this fanfare start, the French rugby sevens teams show that they have the means to aim high in this Australian stage of the Seven Series.
