More than a month after the passage of Cyclone Chido and the strong tropical storm Dikeledi, six Gers firefighters left the department this Friday, January 24 to reach Mayotte, where their arrival is scheduled for January 25. They will carry out a three-week mission there to strengthen the local teams and the national reinforcements already engaged. Assigned to different detachments, they will participate in rescue and support missions for the population of the island.
These six firefighters (commander Eric Gourier, lieutenant Damien Sorbet, sergeant Arnaud Ramelet, corporal Jérôme Boisneau, corporal Amandine Bertheau and firefighter Florent Estebenet) are part of a detachment of 120 personnel sent on site to support the teams already mobilized.
-They will join the three Gers firefighters already present: lieutenant Grégoire Kutchukian, nurse lieutenant Sabine Castex and nurse lieutenant Mickaël Pujolle. This team aims to ensure the continuity of operations and support relief and civil security efforts.
