Unmissable ingredient for breakfast, or even sweet salty dishes … Honey accompanies our meals in a thousand and one way. But should we still find the best. To help us in this quest for excellence, the Central Avulture Society of Paris distinguished the best honeys in the Île-de-France region for the year 2024, on November 16 in the Belfro, in Montrouge. Among the 114 award -winning honeys19 come from Essonne.
Six gold medals in Essonne
For this 23rd edition of the Île-de-France honey competition and for the 7th edition of the Metropolitan honeys competition, 367 samples were presented by 194 beekeepers. 118 jurors met on Friday, November 15, 2024, in order to note the samples presented according to different criteria, namely aroma, color, intensity, balance or even flavor.
Several Essonnian beekeepers have distinguished themselves by winning A gold medal. René Vicogne, beekeeper within the apiary of Verrières, in Verrières-le-Buisson, won this fabulous sesame in the category “chestnut honey”.
-In the various “Honey all flowers” categoriesfive gold medals were laid down by Essonnians. They are Christophe Epiard in Athis-Mons, Dominique Gobourg of the company Apilia in Crosne, Alain Bichot from Honey from Familoune to Plessis-Pâté, Christophe Laîné du Racher de la Ba217 in Brétigny-sur-Orge and the company Bee happy honey in Paray-Vieille-Post.
Other Essonnians rewarded
Thirteen other honeys from the Essonne department have also received a distinction. Here they are:
- René Vicogne, beekeeper in the apiary of Verrières, in Verrières-le-Buisson, won the bronze medal in the “acacia honey” category.
- Michel Rome, beekeeper with fairy nectars, in Leuville-sur-Orge, won the silver medal in the “chestnut honey” category.
- Dominique and Delphine Gobourg of the Apilia company, based in Athis -Mons, won the bronze medal in the category “honey all flowers -Recolted in spring -liquid”.
- Arnaud Fourest, beekeeper in Ballancourt-sur-Essonne, won the silver medal in the category “honey all flowers -Recolted in summer-crystallized”.
- Marc Joiron, beekeeper at Viry -Châtillon, won the silver medal in the category “Honey all flowers -Recolted in summer -crystallized”.
- René Vicogne, beekeeper in Champlan, won the bronze medal in the category “Honey all flowers -Recolted in summer -crystallized”.
- Daniel Somson of La Miellery de Misery, in Vert-le-Petit, won the silver medal in the category “honeymoon called” forest “.
- René Vicogne, beekeeper in Verrières-le-Buisson, won the silver medal in the category “honey honey so-called” forest “.
- Bee happy honey, in Saclay, won the silver medal in the category “honey of all flowers – harvested in summer – liquid”.
- Daniela Christian-Diard, beekeeper in Morsang-sur-Orge, won the agent medal in the category “honey of all flowers-harvested in summer-liquid”.
- Fabrice and Virginia Leite, beekeepers in Morangis, won the agent medal in the category “Honey of all flowers – harvested in summer – liquid”.
- Bee happy honey, in the Ulis, won the bronze medal in the category “honey of all flowers – harvested in summer – liquid”.
- Nicolas Desroche, in Athis-Mons, Bee Happy Miel, in Saclay, won the bronze medal in the category “honey of all flowers-harvested in summer-liquid”.
