Dakar, Jan 23 (APS)-The reporter photographer Abdou Khadre Dieylani Seydi, from the Senegalese press agency (APS), received, Thursday, in Salé (Morocco), the Grand Prix Photo 2023-2024 of the Atlantic Federation of African press agencies (FAAPA).
He received this distinction on the sidelines of the 8th General Assembly of the Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA) which opened Wednesday in Salé (Morocco) on the theme ” African press agencies, lever of promotion of health sovereignty of the continent ”.
The director of the Senegalese press agency (APS), Momar Diong, was present.
The photo presented by Abdou Khadre Dieylani Seydi at the FAAPA competition poses the problem of coastal erosion in Mbao, a town located in the Dakar region.
»In Mbao, a coastal commune (…), the urgent urgent of climate change punctuates the daily life of the populations faced with the advance of the sea, with more than visible consequences on the degradation of their living environment,” wrote Seydi as a legend of the photo rewarded by the jury.
The MAP, Arabic Maghreb Presse, the official Moroccan press agency, won the FAAPA Grand Prix report.
-AIP, the Ivorian press agency, has awarded the competition Grand Prix of the competition.
Abdou Khadre Dieylani Seydi had won the FAAPA 2020-2021 photo Grand Prix 2020-2021. Two APS journalists, Mohamed Tidiane Ndiaye and Abdoulaye Diallo, are also winners of the FAAPA Grand Prix report, in 2018 and 2023 respectively.
Created in 2014 in Casablanca, the Atlantic Federation of African press agencies is considering the future of African press agencies and the accomplishment of their missions, taking into account the profound changes and the diversity of the African media landscape.
