The company recalled in a press release published Thursday that it hired more than 1000 Canadian workers at its Mont-Royal factory in Montreal to produce ketchup in collaboration with its suppliers, and that it used cultivated tomatoes in Leamington , in Ontario. Kraft Heinz is also the largest tomato buyer in Ontario, the manufacturer of food products reported.
“With the exception of the period extending from 2015 to 2020, we have manufactured Ketchup Heinz in Canada for over 100 years. We were determined to bring back the production of the Heinz ketchup in Canada in 2020, and we are proud that Ketchup Heinz was produced in Canada, by Canadians, while using Canadian tomatoes, “added Kraft Heinz Canada.
-The Prime Minister’s comments were made on Tuesday as part of a press briefing in which the Canadian leader said he was ready to establish counter-tale on American products if President Donald Trump went ahead with taxation of its customs duties of 25%.
The latter then ensured that he had focused on products for which Canadian consumers had spare solutions.
The latter illustrated his remarks remembering the last showdown with President Trump in 2018.
“The example of the last time was to replace the Heinz ketchup with the French ketchup since French still used Canadian tomatoes in its ketchup,” he said.
