Water4Future: Student innovation in the service of water and agriculture

The first edition of the Water4Future Hackathon began at Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech, bringing together students engaged in the search for innovative solutions for sustainable water management. Organized in partnership with the UNESCO International Water Center in , this event focuses on the theme “Water and agriculture”.

During the opening, the president of the university, Belaid Bougadir, underlined the urgency of rethinking water management in the face of climatic and demographic challenges. He also announced the launch of new training courses and the restructuring of the National Water and Energy Center to strengthen research and innovation.

For two days, participants will work in teams to design concrete projects taking into account environmental and technological issues. The objective is to develop effective solutions to improve the use of water in agriculture, a key sector but vulnerable to climate change.

This hackathon also offers students the opportunity to interact with experts and develop their spirit of initiative. By promoting collaborative innovation, this initiative is fully part of the national dynamic for the preservation of water resources and food security.
