France travail reform: guidance for job seekers

The public employment service and support for the unemployed have undergone changes since January 1, 2025. After the stage of registration on the Travail lists, comes that of orientation towards a referent organization, according to terms set by two decrees of December 30, 2024.

« The ambition of the law is to allow all job seekers to be directed as quickly as possible to the organization and professional best suited to their situation. », insists the operator France Travail in a press release on developments in the law for “full employment” of December 18, 2023, applicable since January 1, 2025.

As a reminder, since the start of the year, all people looking for work have been registered on the France Travail lists.

From the moment they register, they must be systematically directed to the referral organization best suited to their situation, according to unified criteria, defined by the National Employment Committee (CNE).

Systematic guidance

Currently, ” 18% of RSA recipients are not oriented. » And for those who are, “ on average, three months pass between the moment a person makes an RSA request and the moment they are referred to a referral organization and often it takes two additional months before they are in contact with the professional in charge of their accompaniement », Regrets the France Travail operator.

The goal now? That the orientation be made in a manner “ systematic » for all job seekers, “ and in the majority of cases upon registration. »
