In order to meet rapidly growing global demand, the factory building mechanical dethatching and weeding tools located in Landes-Génusson, in Vendée, will expand. This will double the production capacity of Kverneland and Kubota tools, by integrating mechanical weeding tools and large machines, such as the Kverneland Qualidisc 21000 T disc harrow and its 12.25 m width.
A total surface area of 5.5 hectares
Last December, the factory acquired 17,605 m² of landbringing the total surface area to 5.5 hectares. Work will be quickly undertaken in order toexpand the built areawhich will increase from 13,200 to 20,000 m² (+51%). This will allow the creation of new production spaces for welding, painting, assembly and development of prototypes in research and development. The prototyping workshop will increase from 645 to 1,000 m² and will be coupled with new offices for research and development. Two solar power plants will be installed on the roof of the building and on the parking structure, producing up to 770 kWp of electricity.
Shipping capacity doubled
In addition, the Kverneland Group plans to modernize its industrial processwith welding and painting robots, as well as guided and automated vehicles to move parts and assemblies under construction.
For the logistics part, shipping capacity, including container management, will be doubled thanks to a reorganization of logistics offices and the construction of new storage facilities.
Outside, trucks will now travel in one direction and will no longer enter the factory.
-This project should be completed by mid-2026.
