Recognized as one of the most influential figures in current rap, Kendrick Lamar has transcended musical boundaries with albums that marked the era like Good kid, MA.A.D City, To Pimp a Butterfly or even Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
-In 2018, he became the first hip-hop artist to receive the Pulitzer Prize for his album DAMN. The same year, he signed the soundtrack for the film Black Panther for which he won two Grammy Awards. The artist has become so influential that he was chosen to perform the big halftime show at the Super Bowl on February 9.
On the eve of this legendary international event and on the occasion of the surprise release of his latest album GNX At the end of 2024, France Inter offers its listeners an immersion in the unique universe of Kendrick Lamar, through a masterclass presented by Mehdi Maïzi, music journalist, Hip-Hop manager at Apple Music France and influential personality in the rap world.
The masterclass will be recorded on January 29 at 8 p.m. from studio 104 of the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique and broadcast on the air on Saturday February 8 at 9 p.m.
