Meat service © GP

This temple of beautiful meat, renovated by Christophe Joulie, in the 1950s style, with slightly strong red tones, its benches, its large tables, its modern lighting hesitating between neo-art and neo-art nouveau, is the last vestige of the old market halls of La Villette, like a monument found! The service is considerate and provides relevant advice. We come to taste dishes that enchanted the agents, the louchebems and the chevillards of yesteryear.

Egg mayonnaise, lentil salad, egg meurette, country terrine served at discretion »beautiful parsley steak, superb shallot steak – one of the masterpieces of the genre -, “pavé des mandataires” (a tender heart of fillet) or the chateaubriand des bidochards are a pleasure without fuss and without fuss, served generously with homemade fries and soufflé apples.

Pot au feu © GP

There are also weekly dishes such as grilled pork trotters, mashed sausage, beef bourguignon or pot-au-feu, -style skate (on Fridays) or AAAAA andouillette with mustard, large cart of mature cheeses, before childhood desserts, crepe Suzette, chocolate profiteroles or even Tatin-style apples on Breton shortbread.

The choice of wines is dizzying, between , Burgundy and the Rhône Valley. But we treat ourselves here, on the Beaujolais side, with the Julienas cuvée Marius de Jacques Dépagneux 2023, fruity as the waves, or the round and rubicond chinon clos des chestnut trees from the domain of Roncée 2022. This is a reference place that does not disappoint not !
