We know more about the evolution of the number of self-employed health professionals thanks to Health Insurance. The latter revealed the figures concerning different practitioners in the department. This is the case for surgeons, who decide which operations to carry out. After explaining their choice to patients, they install prostheses, remove tumors or correct malformations. In Seine-et-Marne, there were 79 private surgeons in 2010. Their number increased slightly, and there were 86 in the region in 2023.
