A 76-year-old woman lost her life in a collision involving two vehicles Monday in the Saint-Léonard borough of Montreal.

Around 4:45 p.m., a call was made regarding a collision between two vehicles that occurred at the corner of Langelier Boulevard and Bélanger Street.

According to initial information, a vehicle traveling on Langelier Boulevard northbound collided with another vehicle while attempting to make a left turn westbound onto Bélanger Street.

Following the impact, the driver of the first vehicle, aged 76, collapsed to the ground when she went to see the driver of the other vehicle.

The woman was transported in critical condition to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

For the moment, the cause of death is still undetermined, said spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) Mariane Allaire Morin.

The 53-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered no injuries in the accident.

Specialist collision investigators were dispatched to the site to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding this fatal collision, explained Mariane Allaire Morin.
