Wani is the new coffee shop that delights us on the Left Bank, a stone's throw from Bon Marché. At its head, we find Sugio Yamaguchi, the former virtuoso of the Botanique restaurant who wishes to offer us simple and healthy products, finely crafted.
THE coffee shops are on the rise and each week brings its share of new addresses in Paris. Among these, pretty pearls stand out from the crowd, like Anybodywhich opened its doors on rue Saint-Placide in the 6th district. So we head a stone's throw from Bon Marché to discover this gem which, we were told, is worth the detour.
We find there Sugio Yamaguchithis Japanese chef who delighted our taste buds for several years at Botanical. Wanting to develop his business as a Chef Consultant, he found premises that he considered rather spacious. After reflection, he decided to exploit his free space by opening a coffee shopthat’s where Wani was born.
A big coffee lover, he offers specialty coffeesof hot chocolate made from local chocolate Nicolas Berger and Japanese teascarried out according to the rules of the art. We place a special mention for the Genmaicha latte which is a real joy to taste. Lovers of matcha, sencha and hojitcha have something to delight in. At Wani, everything is organic, from vegetables to teas to homemade organic vegetable milk made from cashew nuts, almonds, sesame and dates.
In addition to your expertly prepared little black, your cappuccino or your flat white, the house offers a host of sweet and savory dishes that change according to the seasons and desires. During our visit, we let ourselves be tempted by the incredible vegetable piea signature of the chef which evolves according to the seasonal vegetables. Since it's winter, the pie honors root vegetables like carrots, turnips and sweet potatoes. We find both crunchy and fondant in this creation to which a herb pesto, slices of kumquat and a condiment of vegetable scraps are added. We only have one thing to say, a tart like this makes us want to eat vegetables every day.

On the menu of our discoveries of the day, there was also the cow's cheese toast generously covered with strips of scams coming directly from Vaucluse, a real comforting treat. As for sweets, the apple and hazelnut tart is a real treat as is the cake with the powerful scent of grated bergamot.
The coffee shop Wani has less than ten places, so they are rare. That said, it's all there to be taken take away. Moreover, we also tested the chirashi based on rice and topped with various vegetable salads, which can only be taken away, a great discovery for maximum flavors.
Allow €11 for the generous vegetable tart, €18 for the truffle tartine (it may seem expensive, but it's actually quite affordable given the price of fresh truffle) or the 10 vegetable chirashi. Hot drinks range from €4 to €7. This address is aimed at people looking for places to eat healthy, digestible, homemade, plant-based and ORGANIC. Sugio Yamaguchi only offers what he likes to eat, bringing his sensitivity and taste to it. At Wani, everything is sourced and the organic vegetables come from Ferme desprès Neuf, from Erwan Humbert, a passionate market gardener in Essonne. In short, to spend a poetic moment while doing yourself good, you have the address!
