From this Monday, January 20 and until Wednesday, January 22, a man is tried at the Deux-Sèvres assize court. He is accused of having killed, during the summer of 2022, his partner in the town of Val-en-Vignes (Deux-Sèvres). The victim's body was discovered by her son-in-law, Le Parisien said.
If convicted, the accused could be sentenced to life sentence. Since his arrest and indictment, the accused has been placed in pre-trial detention. He denies all of the charges against him and does not recognize any responsibility for this murder.
Verdict expected January 22
If the accused denies any involvement in the death of his partner, several elements could undermine his defense. A few months before the murder, a complaint had been filed by the victim. The latter had denounced rapes and violence that she suffered from her companion.
-This complaint was dismissed for the following reason: “insufficiently characterized offense”. The victim's relatives also reported that the accused had repeatedly threatened to kill his partner.
The verdict of this judgment will be rendered this Tuesday, January 22.
