Failing to have mobilized the crowds, the general assembly of voluntary blood donors from Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse and the surrounding area, held on Friday January 10, nevertheless underlined the good functioning of the association.

Secretary Philippe Lassalle highlighted a slightly increasing list of supporters, with 57 first donations recorded. Satisfaction also on the agenda, concerning the organization of two meetings in Saint-Geours-de-Maremne, with 125 donations recorded. A small relocation which was welcomed by co-president Yves Plassin, welcoming the investment of the COS (Committee of Social Works) and the neighboring municipality.

In terms of thanks, the group leader did not forget to highlight the mayors of the covered sector, the Burry association, the deputy head of the EFS (French Blood Establishment) Bénédicte Ostre, as well as the unwavering volunteers.

Good local results

During the round of the table, Pierre Flous representing the Departmental Union 40, while highlighting the good local results, recalled “the importance of retaining donors, since 70% of them only come once. times a year, and to again and again encourage young people, inclined as a bonus, to promote blood donation through new means of communication.”

Bénédicte Ostre, “beyond the figures consistent with forecasts for Tyrosse and Saint-Geours”, insisted on the plasma needs: “60% comes from abroad. By 2028, levies will have to be doubled.” The provision of an additional day of opening on the site will not be too much.

New office

All that remained was to review the composition of the office, particularly due to the withdrawal of Aline and Philippe Lassalle, respectively treasurer and secretary for twenty and twenty-five years. An unusual commitment, which was well worth a small homemade gift as a unanimous recognition.

The office now consists of Jean-Claude Darets and Yves Plassin as co-presidents, Nathalie Chevaugeon as secretary, and Virginie Couderc as treasurer.
