  1. Digital Morocco 2030

Since Morocco’s Cash Center approved electronic payment in 2019, one in three transactions is carried out by this method. Over the past decade, the Alawite country has made significant progress in financial modernization, resulting in a reduction in the number of traditional payments.

According to the director of the institution, Rachid Saihi, The majority of Moroccan citizens who try to pay their bills electronically do not return to the traditional method, reflecting the success of measures taken in recent years.

In order to achieve a complete electronic digital transformation, the government of Morocco created the plan “Digital Morocco 2030” under which the General Directorate of Taxes, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Taxes, in collaboration with financial institutions such as Bank Al-Maghrib, have established simpler administrative procedures which will allow citizens to make all the payments they need electronically.

This approach is part of the efforts made by the Moroccan Digital Development Agency to accelerate its process of digitalization of services and unification of administrative procedures through an integrated web portal which brings together all digital services at all stages.
